IQPC’s workshops are unique opportunities to spend valuable time with industry experts. These interactive sessions are extended to ensure that you get to the heart of the conference’s most critical issues and uncover practical solutions you can apply in your own company. When designing our workshops, we create a balance between theory and practice in order to provide you with practical takeaways that can be adapted for your organisation. In addition, there is an opportunity for you to network with peers from similar organisations to build your network for future career opportunities and broaden your industry perspective and exposure.

What are the benefits of attending workshops?

  • Address your specific challenges through a series of theoretical and practical exercises, led by a recognised expert in the field
  • Learn substantial information on a particular topic within a short period of time – the facilitator will already have sifted and selected the information presented from a wide variety of sources and the small group size will enable you to get your questions answered
  • Gather with like-minded delegates to discuss your shared challenges, exchange ideas and solutions and benchmark your competitors or project partners

10:00 am - 12:30 pm Port operating system transformation: best practices

Port operating system transformation is one of the most complex and difficult projects that ports execute in terms of cost, time and associated risks. Many ports are simply afraid to upgrade their legacy operating system; even renewals can no longer be put off as they drive an ROE improvement.

This workshop will analyse the main objections of progressive modernisation and present the most effective approach of operating system transformation to grow revenue and rebuild profitability in port.

1:30 pm - 2:30 pm Protecting your port: Best practices

Port security is a key issue for any port looking to handle large volumes of goods. Keeping track of everything passing through the port can be a headache. Apart from that, ports should continuously invest in cyber security, as its data is vulnerable to an explosion of cyber-attacks and high level data breaches.

This workshop will highlight:

  • Addressing all maritime security threats from piracy to terrorism
  • Challenges in securing critical port infrastructure
  • How can port systems be combined with the right level of cyber security protection?
  • How can vulnerable data be protected from sophisticated malware and phishing attacks?

The published programme is correct at time of printing. However, given the seniority of our speakers and the nature of their roles, speakers may subsequently substitute or remove themselves from the programme. This is always regrettable, and we will always try to replace the speaker with a speaker with equivalent insight.
